WELLBEING: Who Are You?
WHO ARE YOU?
Are you prepared to dive deep into the mind, emotions and spirit that makes up who you are?
Ok, so if I first expose myself and ask the question, WHO AM I? Well I know who I am... Kaye Bewley. But is that all I am? A name on my birth certificate? Or, am I a person with a whole lot of life experience behind me and ahead of me?
Before you answer the question yourself, I want to ask, have you ever sat down and tried to figure out who you are? Have you ever asked the question of yourself…
“Who am I?”
Many of us on this busy planet think we know who we are. We are the person we are. Of course. That speaks for itself. But, what happens when we ask a slightly different question of ourselves? A question like:
“What do I want to do with my life?”
Many of us scratch our heads and don’t know. We don’t know what we want from life. From our own lives.
Let me put a little more emphasis on that concept. Let’s put it into a more desperate, pressing perspective.
If we live until we are 70 years of age, 25,567.5 days is how many days we have to live this life.
Go ahead, figure out how many days you have used up already! Times 365.25 days by the age you are today.
Now figure out how many days you have left by deducting that from the 25,567.5. Do you now see how valuable each day is? Now do you want to figure out what you want to do? So, now I get to tell you who I am.
I am a business woman in the publishing and psychological environments and I assist you in defining who you want to be or what kind of life you want to lead. I’ve assisted the #snowflake youth of today (terrible euphemism, don’t you think?), as well as the #greypound (i.e. #silversurfers or, as most recognise them: #pensioners) and all those in-betweeners. What have I assisted them with? Figuring out what they should have realised from the beginning...
What they want to do with their lives!
During the past three decades, that’s 10,957.5 days, the global world has changed completely. And the major determinant of that has been the internet. Having grown up with it, I have watched it spread its wings from my little office desk where my massive Olivetti used to cramp my style, through to accessing the whole world on a tiny hand held phone.
I must say, in an effort to figure out who I am, this writing platform has been a releasing cathartic venture for me. Being able to reflect on what has gone before, what is now and what is waiting for me up ahead has provided an outlet for my own particular kinds of stress. In the future, I will include some of my personal views about the world - some which you might not necessarily agree with (we are all different, after all) and some you will.
So far, I've tried to remain balanced in my outlook on the body, emotions and spirit - and the way of the world as I see it just now.
However, I'm feel I'm able to express who I truly am on these pages. Able to write down the thoughts that rattle around in my mind and reveal my personal view on life itself. I do like to keep an open-mind and be free to explore by reading to understand. If you’d like to come along for the journey, please be my guest.
