BEWLEYTHERAPY: 05: Get to know the impact you have

Updated: May 27

The whole ethos of my publishing platform, BewleyBooks, is to lead people to be inspired.

This life we live is special, it can be spectacular. The things that people do and how they get to the pinnacle in their lives, can be awesome and spectacular to witness. Some people never fails to impress me with their inspirational ideas and feats of achievement.

When you inspire others, you are gathering your time, your knowledge, your skills and the information you've got - and you're giving it away.

You are realising, your knowledge is for someone else to learn, and for you to pass the baton.

You are realising that if you hold all that knowledge to yourself, the world doesn't get to expand. When you don't let go the world about you merely constricts and becomes a mean and dark place.

To see people as they are, rather than what you perceive them to be, is a special skill. It is a technique that makes you understand what being non-judgemental and accepting of anothers way of being, seeing and doing is all about.

Sometimes, stepping back and keeping quiet can seem impossible and you get to ask the inevitable question:

Why should I accept someone else's viewpoint when they won't, can't or don't accept mine?

Therein lies the key.

If you don't, won't or can't find a way to 'give' of yourself, then you will find roadblocks and challenges all along the route to your goals. Life will begin to align in a way that makes it just that little bit more difficult to get through each day.

However, when you make someone feel special, when you take the time to help them understand that what they do is important, then in one small step, you've managed to change the world.

Not a lot, but just a little. But that's how things are done. One small step at a time.

It's the little changes, the changes in emotions or feelings, that inspire a person to want to view your way of thinking. Rather than hiding and protecting what they believe you will steal from them, they become more open and honest and willing to share,

Being an inspiration is not about you. It's about the other person.

There are many sayings that show you how to inspire others... most of them originate from the Christian Bible (which, in turn, were gathered from other more ancient books... but more about that in another post). It was something about doing a kindness for someone else. Here are a few quotes to help you see how others inpire...

  • Walk a mile in another's shoes... (anon)

  • Everything you want is just outside your comfort zone (Robert Allen, Author)

  • Imagination is everything (Albert Eiinstein, Physics)

  • You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with (Jim Rohn, millionaire/author)

  • Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored (Aldous Huxley, author)

Be the inspiration behind your own quote that will be remembered by generations to come.

All my best,

Kaye Bewley
