Going to the dogs?

Two dogs, one house and me. I've been trusted to look after someone's fur babies. The lady found me through Rover.com and recruited me for a week to keep her dogs company and her house secure.
What a wonderful adventure!
I first met Maisey, a beautiful old lady and Cooper, a young enthusiastic pup - both very intelligent Collies when I was invited for a pre-meet up.
Marianne made me a cuppa and we sat in the garden sunshine. We enjoyed each other's company so much she took me on a tour of their home and booked me. It was easy enough to do with the calendar on Rover.com. If you have an account, simply click on the 'Contact Me' button - then make an enquiry for what you need. If you don't have an account, simply sign up and ask me if you'd like me to look after your pet.
I was looking forward to looking after them and was not disappointed!
The week spent in their company taught me a great deal. For several months prior to walking Maisey and Cooper, I had gotten into a habit of going for a 'stroll' rather than a routine of exercise. Cooper sure told me how unfit I had become!
We found a local park, big, wide open spaces combined with woodland and cycle paths. Beautifully spacious and filled with happy people walking their dogs too.
The whole week provided us with gorgeous weather - couldn't have hoped for better actually.
On a couple of days, I threw some balls in the garden for Cooper, just to make sure we could bond and he wouldn't run off when I released him from his leash.
As it was, a week didn't seem enough and I really didn't want to chance him running away from me. So, to keep him safe, we walked all the way to the park with him on the lead beside me and then through and around the park - on the trot!
I certainly got to moving those muscles.
At the end of the week, Cooper was a cute as a pup and as obedient as a well-trained dog. I wish I could have had a little more time with him and was reassured that their guardians would book me for when they planned any future break aways.
All the best,
Kaye
